Job Summary:
Position located in Canoas/Brazil.
IT Specialist / DBA is responsible for the support of databases services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by the business systems in South America. Provide all activities related to the administration of large scale databases. Design, create and maintain databases in a client/server environment. Conduct quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Designs, implements and maintains complex databases, access methods, access time, devise allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security. Also this role requires good communication skills, both with team members, customers, and business contacts.
Job Responsabilities:
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the Oracle and SQL Server databases, including installation, patching, upgrading, maintenance, indexing, statistics, backup and restore, performance tuning, full text indexes, data archival, user access security and partitioning that support the critical systems.
Provide support by collaborating with systems analysts, developers, business analysts, and project teams. Also work with the team and vendors to maintain the environment, create innovation solutions and optimum performance for the databases.
Work with vendors to propose and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability within the supported IT environment. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery.
Develop policies, procedures and standards related to the use of RDBMS based resources. Assist in strategy, design, implementation, and operational aspects of multiple DBMS, operating environments, and related software. Schedules, plans, and oversees system upgrades.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management or a related field.
Advanced English skills required - communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Other qualifications:
Strong experience with design, implementation and administration of Oracle Database, version 11 and onwards.
Strong experience implementing, monitoring, and managing Oracle Enterprise OEM, ASM, RAC and Clusterware.
A good understanding of RMAN, Backup/Recovery and RDMS security auditing/configuration.
Experience with design, implementation and administration of SQL Server Database versions 2008 and 2016.
A good understanding of MS Windows Server, Red Hat Linux and UNIX/AIX OS.
A good understanding of Oracle and SQL Server Databases Licensing.
Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system and Flyway is a plus but not mandatory.
